✦ AI Passport
Connect your passport to Claude and ChatGPT
Connecting is the difference between carrying a document around and just being known. Once AI Passport is connected, the assistant reads your context itself, in any conversation, with nothing to paste.
You connect it once per assistant. This is the address you will need in both:
https://chatgpttoclaude.co/api/mcpYou will be asked to sign in to your passport and approve the connection. You need an active subscription for connected apps to read anything.
Connect it to Claude
- 1In Claude, open Settings → Connectors.
- 2Click Add custom connector.
- 3Paste the address above as the remote MCP server URL and leave the advanced options empty. Sign-in is discovered automatically.
- 4Click Add, then Connect. Claude opens a browser window; sign in to your passport and choose Allow access.
- 5In a conversation, enable it from the + menu under connectors. Then just ask Claude something personal and it will read your passport when it helps.
On Team and Enterprise plans an owner has to enable custom connectors for the organisation first, under organisation settings.
Connect it to Claude Code
In your terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http ai-passport https://chatgpttoclaude.co/api/mcpThen run /mcp inside Claude Code to sign in. Add --scope user if you want it available in every project.
Connect it to ChatGPT
Custom MCP connectors in ChatGPT live behind developer mode, and are available on the paid plans rather than the free tier.
- 1Open Settings → Connectors and turn on Developer mode. On business plans an admin has to allow it for the workspace first.
- 2Create a new connector and choose the option to add a remote MCP server by URL.
- 3Paste the address above as the public endpoint.
- 4Approve the connection when ChatGPT sends you to sign in, then review the three read-only tools it discovers.
What it can do once connected
The connector exposes three read-only tools. Assistants pick them on their own when personal context would help, so you rarely name them:
- Get passport context — reads your whole profile: who you are, your preferences, projects, goals, tools and writing style.
- Search passport context — pulls one fact instead of the whole profile.
- List passport profiles — shows your profiles, so you can say “use my work profile”.
Nothing writes. A connected assistant cannot edit your passport, delete a profile, read your raw conversations, or reach your billing.
Keeping it current
The connector always reads your latest synced version, so the way to keep every assistant current is to sync a fresh export now and then from your passport dashboard. The merge keeps what it already knows and folds in what is new. The same dashboard lists connected apps and can disconnect them.
Questions
What is an MCP connector?+
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard assistants use to talk to outside tools. Connecting AI Passport as an MCP connector means Claude or ChatGPT can read your profile itself, mid-conversation, instead of you pasting a document at the start of every chat.
What can a connected assistant actually see?+
Only your distilled passport context: the items you have synced, your profile names, and when each was last updated. It cannot change or delete anything, cannot see your raw conversations (those are never stored), and cannot touch your billing. Every tool is read-only.
Do I still need to sync my exports?+
Yes. The connector reads whatever is in your passport, so it is only as current as your last sync. Sync a fresh export whenever you want the profile to catch up, and every connected assistant sees the update immediately.
How do I disconnect it?+
Open your passport dashboard and use Disconnect all apps. Because access tokens are signed rather than stored, disconnecting revokes every connected app at once; you reconnect the ones you still want. Removing the connector inside Claude or ChatGPT also stops it from being used there.
Is my subscription required?+
Yes. Connected apps can read your context only while your AI Passport subscription is active. If it lapses, the connector stays installed but returns a message telling you to resubscribe.
